Mpangazitha was a Hlubi prince born from the union between King Bhungane II’s house (his right hand house) and that of his brother King Mthimkhulu II’s house (King Mthimkhulu II). Ultimately he became commander-in-chief of AmaHlubi military then later regent king for their nation; known for being an expert in both kingship medicine and rainmaking techniques he often received advice from other kingdoms for his expertise.
Mpangazitha was also notoriously violent against others, which eventually resulted in clashes and eventually led to his demise. Though Mpangazitha did not direct this murderous action himself, his actions caused tension within clans who were fed up with his egocentric ways and wanted nothing more to do with Mpangazitha than killing him off themselves.
